Bay Mills Resort and Casino hosted their 3rd Annual Super Sunday Event in the DraftKings Sportsbook area of the casino. Each year, roughly 300 casino goers come from all over to watch the big game on the Bay. With over 20 large screen tv’s and a sixteen foot sportsbook tv wall, you are guaranteed to never miss a play! Each ticket sold included access to an all you can eat tailgate buffet, a swag bag valued at over $30, and a chance to win valuable prizes from Draftkings, Pepsi, Marchetti Distributing, Spectrum Reach and more.

To kickoff the event, Bay Mills Resort and Casino (BMRC) staff welcomed us at the front door to get us registered for the event. Our ticket stub was placed into a prize drum next to a visually striking display of prizes. The BMRC staff handed everyone a swag bag that included a Lions logo tumbler, BMRC logo’d playing cards, two BMRC/DraftKings logo’d can koozies, a foam finger, and a football themed stress ball and/or keychain.

As the nostalgic smell of the popcorn hit us, we began to make our way to our seats. All the tables were decorated with football themed table coverings and centerpieces that brought that Super Bowl feeling to life! We had our choice of sitting in the DraftKings sportsbook, at the Golf Simulator screens, or in the Back Bay Grill and Games sports bar.

The DraftKings Sportsbook area was a prime location to host this event. Especially for those that like to place live bets as the in-play action unfolds. Don’t know how to place a live bet? It’s easy! Just place your bet at the kiosk while cheering on your team. If you have a payout, take your ticket to the cage and collect your winnings. Bay Mills Resort and Casino had staff to assist if you needed help using the DK kiosks.

As we entered the sports bar area, popcorn was being popped right in front of us, which is the perfect go-to snack for any sports game. You know what they say about popcorn? It pairs well with a cold draft beer, and BBGG’s has a fine selection of drafts on tap! To get the party started, the sports bar had several drink specials including, Jell-o shots and mixed drinks that highlighted each team; Eagles Nest for the Philadelphia Eagles and a shot of Fireball with a PBR for the Kansas City Chiefs. That was just the start of the show!

We made our way to the all you can eat tailgate buffet. You can’t have a tailgate buffet without an all-beef glizzy hot dog bar, where hot dogs could be elevated with special toppings like nacho cheese and chili for the Superior Chili Dog on the Bay. As well as, Back Bay Grill and Games famous bone-in and boneless wings with your choice of parmesan garlic, classic buffalo and honey barbeque with their homemade ranch on the side for dipping. On top of that, there was “Pizza Palooza” where participants can enjoy a wide variety of pizza from classic pepperoni, three meat, and Honolulu Hawaiian, plus other flavor combinations for all pizza lovers to indulge in. For the lighter side, the tailgate buffet also included a fresh garden salad with seasonal vegetables and toppings with homemade dressings. It was the perfect selection for the Super Sunday event.

Once we sat down and ate, the Super Bowl game was about to begin. That’s when the real fun started! The first prize drawing was given away at kick-off and every ten minutes after that until the end of the game! The prizes were high-value premium items that appealed to the football enthusiast.

The SUPER SUNDAY GRAND PRIZE was a Tailgate Package that included a JBL Partybox On-the-Go Tailgate Speaker, a Lions flag, Lions BBQ set, and a Lions apron for the BBQ boss!

There was also a Detroit Lions licensed jersey (Goff, Hutchinson, St. Brown and Gibbs) paired with the all new limited edition Detroit Lions Echo Pop given away at the end of each quarter.

Other prizes included branded apparel and gift items from the DraftKings store like Yetis, leather flasks, poker set, and stylish merchandise from shirts, polos, hats, hooded sweatshirts, insulated vest, and even a soft cozy robe. Other items included an attractive Detroit Lions Bud Light LED sign donated by Marchetti Distributing, logo’d pint glasses, golf balls, a UofM set that included a t-shirt, cup, and hat with the 2023 Football Champion logo. Les Cheneaux Distillers provided a gift card, hat, keychain, can koozie, and more. Spectrum Reach donated goodie bags with water bottles, pint glasses, magnets, golf balls and more. Pepsi goodie bags included logo merch with pickleball sets and koozie’s!

There was even a photo booth area with a backdrop of the BMRC Super Sunday logo with football related props for guests to “strike a pose” and capture their own Super Bowl story!

As the Eagles were up 24-0 at half time, we were able to enjoy the thrilling halftime show featuring Kendrick Lamar and try our luck on our favorite slot machine. We regrouped to watch the 3rd and 4th quarters of the game, with a final score of 40-22 with the Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl! It was the perfect experience for a Super Sunday event with high-energy, great people, hot slots, and fantastic food! It was a SUPERior time!
