UPDATES at Bay Mills

UPDATED NOVEMBER 23, 2021

The Indoor Mask Mandate has been extended until January 1, 2022. We are working closely with the Bay Mills Health Center to monitor data on reservation and within Chippewa County, but have not yet seen data trends that support lifting indoor mask requirements.

In order to continue to combat the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of our Tribal Nation, the Bay Mills Indian Community Executive Council is hereby adopting an extension of our indoor mask mandate effective until January 1, 2022 for all citizens, employees, guests, and visitors within our tribal government and tribal enterprise operations.

This indoor mask mandate applies whether you are vaccinated or unvaccinated.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding as Bay Mills Indian Community works to combat the spread of COVID-19 within our Tribal Nation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Executive Council for further clarification.

As always, please be kind to our employees who are required to enforce this rule.

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 7, 2021

EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH  Bay Mills Indian Community will require all employees and patrons to wear facemasks that fully cover the nose and mouth with materials that effectively block the transmission of droplets and aerosols.  We are advising everyone to upgrade your facemasks to tightly-woven materials with multiple layers.  These can be surgical masks, two-layered masks with filter inserts, or disposable masks layered with fabric masks.

Neck-gaiters, scarves, face-shields and mesh will not be permitted in the facility as a substitute for a mask.  This is mandatory for the safety of our patrons and employees.

There will be complimentary disposable masks for our guests at each entrance.

Our staff truly appreciates your patience and cooperation. We are trying very hard to push this as fast as possible to complete the construction phase at the earliest time possible.

Once again, sorry for the inconvenience. We kindly seek your continued cooperation.
