BMRC to resume gaming operations on June 12
BRIMLEY — Bay Mills Resort & Casinos is announcing that it will resume gaming operations at its Bay Mills Resort & Casino property at 10 a.m. on June 12. Bay Mills tribal leadership acted swiftly by closing the facility on March 19, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we begin the process of reopening our facility, the health and safety of our customers, our team members and our communities will be our highest priority,” said Richard LeBlanc, general manager of BMRC. “We are excited to welcome our patrons and our employees back to our facility. We would also like to take this time to thank the efforts of those on the front lines addressing this public health emergency.”
BMRC has enhanced health and safety protocols with more frequent cleaning and sanitizing efforts. Staff will screen guests, employees, and vendors prior to entering the facility. Individuals who register a temperature of 100.4 or more will be discreetly informed of the policy regarding high temperatures and will be asked to leave the property.
BMRC will require all employees, patrons and vendors to wear a mask while on property. Guests are encouraged to bring their own mask, as the casino has a limited supply to offer. Gloves will be made available to patrons at designated locations, however, gloves may present exposure issues when improperly used. Consistent hand-washing has been shown to be a better method for reducing exposure and this will be emphasized. A strong emphasis will be placed on the training of staff prior to and during the resumption of business. Smoking and/or vaping will not be permitted within the facility. Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to enter the casino.
Measures will be enforced throughout the casino in support of social distancing.
Additional safety measures include:
- Enforcing a distance of at least six feet between individuals;
- Removal of chairs between gaming machines;
- Removal of bar seating;
- Installation of visual floor aids to promote safe distancing;
- Installation of Plexiglas stations at service areas; and
- Placement of hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the facility.
Some offerings, including hotel, live entertainment, bars, buffet/dine-in eating, and conference center functions will not be resuming immediately. However, once these amenities are restored, they will be operated in a manner consistent with social distancing guidelines.
Bay Mills Resort and Casinos would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support during this challenging transition. Although we have implemented these safety measures, rest assured we are still the same Bay Mills you all know and love. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
